Delivering Innovation and Options in Liquid and Solutions Formulations
Helena Industries has a broad range of specialized expertise and equipment to manufacture and process liquid, blended liquids, and liquid solutions that are either water or hydrocarbon based. Our liquid conveying and processing systems are constructed with a variety of materials—low carbon, stainless steel, and engineered resins. We can package liquid formulations in sizes from pints to railcars. We are also able to provide refillable container maintenance services.

Emulsifiable Concentrates
Emulsifiable concentrates (ECs) are liquid formulations of pesticides, including insecticides, herbicides, biocides, and fungicides. The emulsion is a mixture of two or more immiscible (unblendable) ingredients. ECs contain a concentration of the active ingredient, oils, water, solvents and an emulsifier or surfactant. One ingredient, usually the active ingredient, is dispersed in the other material(s), (oils, solvents, or water) using either low energy or high energy mixers.
The emulsifier or surfactant is added to enhance or stabilize the emulsion by reducing the surface tension of the mixed materials. ECs are packaged into various packages and vary in size from ounce containers to railcars. Helena Industries’ West Helena plant currently has eight stainless steel systems that are capable of producing ECs.
Liquid Flowables
Liquid flowables are formulations where the active ingredient is wet milled to a fine particle size and suspended in a liquid carrier or agent.
Liquid Blendings
Liquid blending are custom blends of liquid products, multiple ingredient liquid blends, as well as solutions in virtually any quantity and package type. All Helena Industries manufacturing sites are capable of producing liquid blending products. All plants also have sophisticated liquid and solid measurement systems, as well as the ability to handle select exothermic and endothermic processes.
